Self-employed

Your income, assessed fairly

Every lender reads self-employed income differently. We place your case with the ones that read it in your favour.

How lenders view your income

  • Sole traders: net profit from SA302s and tax year overviews, usually one to three years
  • Partnerships: your share of net profit
  • Directors: salary plus dividends, or salary plus retained profit with selected lenders
  • Contractors: day rate multiplied by working weeks, with the right lender

What to have ready

Two years of finalised accounts or SA302s, three months of business and personal bank statements, and an up-to-date accountant's reference where available.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
