Remortgage

Never drift onto the standard variable rate

We review your deal six months before expiry and compare the whole market against your lender's own product transfer.

When to start

Most offers can be secured up to six months in advance and re-checked if rates fall before completion, so early is rarely too early.

What we compare

  • Product transfer with your existing lender versus a full remortgage
  • Fixed, tracker and offset options with the true cost over the deal period
  • Capital raising for home improvements or other purposes
  • Term changes to manage monthly payments

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Consolidating debt may reduce monthly payments but increase the total amount you repay.

Representative example

A mortgage of £185,000 payable over 20 years, initially on a fixed rate of 4.44% for 5 years and then on a variable rate of 6.94% for the remaining 15 years, would require 60 payments of £1,164.42 and 180 payments of £1,427.65. The total amount payable would be £328,136, including interest, a product fee of £999 and a valuation fee of £295. The overall cost for comparison is 4.7% APRC representative.

We typically charge a fee for mortgage advice. The exact amount depends on your circumstances; our typical fee is £499, payable on application. We will also usually receive a procuration fee from the lender.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
